At NXT we like to meet and get to know you, to help us to identify and talk to you about suitable positions based upon your skill set. If you haven’t done one yourself, we will create a Personal Profile for you which will be sent to clients along with your CV. This helps to point out why we feel you are suitable for a particular role, clears up any questions which may be raised by the client, and provides them with useful information about you, such as your notice period. If selected, you will then be invited to an interview with the company directly.
Application
When you are completing an application, it’s important to include as much information about yourself as possible to show why you are suitable for the role. It is also vital to take your time to read through the job description to make sure you possess any essential requirements – these will always be made clear in our job adverts. We will respond to all of the applications we receive. If you apply for a position for which you are potentially suitable, one of our team will call you to invite you to meet us.
Meeting
If you have applied for a role or been contacted by us, we will provide you with more information about the specific role and working environment when you come in to meet us. During the meeting we will talk about your career history and the duties you carried out during that time. We will also go into detail about your career goals, salary expectations and long term plans in general. This helps us to understand where you want to be and how best we can assist should you be unsuccessful in this application or not progress to the next stage. All of the information you offer will help us to increase potential career opportunities by identifying strengths, personality traits and transferable skills which may not be clear when looking at your CV.
In the event you didn’t register online or haven’t created a Personal Profile for yourself, please note we will always create one for you to pass on to the employer and also to store on our database. This enables us to keep you in mind for any suitable positions which may be of interest to you in the future (unless you ask us not to).
Preparation
Should you successfully progress to interview with the client, we can help you prepare by setting realistic expectations and giving you clear information about the company and role. When preparing for an interview you should research the organisation and post so that you feel comfortable when discussing in more detail or if questioned by the interviewer. Plan your route to the interview to ensure you arrive early to set a good impression – and make sure that whatever you post on social media makes you stand out for the right reasons!
Post Interview
If you are successfully offered the position following interview – congratulations! We will carry out all reference checks for the employer and contact you on their behalf. If you are employed on a temporary basis, please note that you will be employed by NXT, whereas if the role is permanent, you will be employed by the company directly. Where the role is temporary to permanent, you will initially be employed by NXT, and then subsequently by the employer. All of these services are provided to you with no costs.
