Architectural Technologist / Technician

Job Purpose:             

To provide technical support, to gain sales, to our customer base, primarily architects and contractors, advising them on the unique attributes and benefits of our product portfolio and how to incorporate them into their constructions.  

Key Skills:                 
  • A qualified Architectural Technologist/Technician or similar.  
  • Familiar with and interpreting building drawings. 
  • A practical mind set and keen interest in Passive House and low energy construction would be an advantage, but not essential – as you’ll be advising customers on the correct and efficient application of a range of thermal insulation and airtightness materials, full training will be given.  
  • Eventually you will be advising our customers on moisture control within the building envelope, heat and humidity and energy conservation, if you’ve got an understanding of building physics that would be useful, but again not essential as full training will be given.
Key Responsibilities:  
  • To advise customers on our product range.
  • To assist in providing technical support to our customers in terms of evaluating drawings and optimizing thermal performance and airtightness of the building envelope through our product range.
  • An understanding of UK Building Regulations, Passive House standards and other relevant standards and codes would be useful but not essential.
  • To help in supporting our stockist network.
  • To provide U Value calculations, condensation risk analysis with training and in conjunction with the rest of the Technical Team.  
  • Competent in using a variety of software packages and familiar with modern media.
  • Working with the team at Exhibitions and Conferences as necessary.
  • To eventually provide practical training, on-site and at our training centre.  
  • Providing presentations, through our CPD programme, speaking at training events, conferences, etc.
  • To research and keep updated on relevant products/builds/research papers/etc.
  • Progressive thinking to ensure that our products are at the forefront in the UK.
  • Identifying and implementing technical data relevant for our audience.
  • Use of Hub Spot CRM system to log projects and monitor to sales.
  • Using our internal accounts system to prepare quotes, etc.
  • The ability to work as part of a strong and committed team.
