Are you a Legal Secretary looking for a new challenge?
NXT have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary who is looking to join a friendly team within a reputable and well-established legal firm in Carlisle. As a Legal Secretary, you will provide a high level of accurate, confidential secretarial and administrative support.

Duties will include:
 

  • Day to day typing of letters, memoranda, monthly reports, bills, file notes, etc.
  • word processing/typing and collating correspondence and other documents from digital dictation, amending and formatting documents quickly and accurately – minimum of 60 wpm required
  • Handling and managing telephone calls, visitors and enquiries promptly and professionally 
  • Maintaining diary systems for departmental and office staff, arranging and booking meetings and appointments
  • Maintain and organise filing systems and other information/reference systems including case management systems
  • Other support services including taking minutes of meetings and initiating and replying to correspondence on routine matters
  • General secretarial duties including receiving and sorting incoming mail where required, photocopying, faxing and collating documents
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and the firm’s policies in general
  • Undertake other duties of a reasonable nature which may be requested from time to time, including any relevant training

 
Attributes and Experience:

 

  • Previous legal secretarial experience
  • Familiarity with digital dictation system
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute minimum
  • Confident in the use of MS Office applications
  • Experience of communicating/meeting with clients face to face and over the phone and e-mail
  • professional telephone manner and the ability to take messages effectively and efficiently
  • A team player with an open and approachable attitude
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment and a high level of personal integrity
  • A self-starter, with the ability to work on your own initiative and a flexible working attitude
  • Good time management with excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritise task
