We have an exciting opportunity to join a leading, local manufacturing business. Our client is looking for a Production Manager to lead the production team, monitor production operations ensuring that customers receive maximum quality in a profitable manner. Main duties and responsibilities:
 

  • Effectively manage plant production in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times
  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, organising workflows and analysing the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
  • Setting department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance. Ensure the target productivity level is achieved, updating and reporting progress of the production plan on a daily basis
  • Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets; prepare manufacturing budget and forecasts. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects ultimately achieving budget and forecast
  • Ensure factory procedures are up to date and adhered to, driving process improvements on overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis
  • Ensure all production employees comply with company policies, completing risk assessments and COSHH assessments in a timely and accurate manner as and when required
  • Ensure records are accurately maintained, producing measures and statistics in a timely manner and in accordance with strict reporting deadlines. Accurately file all paperwork according to established records management procedures
  • Provide a first-class level of customer service.

Skills and Experience:
 

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications
  • Extensive plant level experience with significant proven supervisory experience
  • Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP),Six Sigma, Kaizen, lean manufacturing
  • Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
  • You should be highly competent and comprehend complex operations of the manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
  • Understanding of ISO9001, ISO 14001, IOSH/NEBOSH, BS5852 & BS1425
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong team spirit; Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and man-management skills with the Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
