NXT is seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to work with our well-established client in Carlisle. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse facility. Your primary responsibility will be to handle, organise, and process incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely order fulfilment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, verifying their quantity and quality against delivery notes or purchase orders
  • Safely and efficiently unload, sort, and store incoming goods in designated storage areas
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper labelling and documentation
  • Conduct regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory management systems accordingly
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods
  • Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily operational targets and fulfil customer orders in a timely manner
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues with inventory or equipment to the appropriate manager
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and operational standards to ensure overall efficiency and productivity

Skills & Experience:

  • No previous experience working in a warehouse is required as full training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and targets
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Familiarity with inventory management software or systems is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
