Job Type: Temporary (1 to 3 months)
Hourly Rate: £12.50
Hours: 6am-2pm, Monday-Friday
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant for a well-established and reputable client of ours based in Carlisle. This is a temporary position with a duration of 1 to 3 months, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, and other basic cooking tasks
- Ensuring all ingredients are properly stored and organized
- Assisting the chefs with setting up cooking stations and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards
- Keeping the kitchen area tidy, including washing up, clearing surfaces, and disposing of waste
- Replenishing stock and supplies in the kitchen as needed
- Adhering to all health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Supporting the team with any additional tasks as required during busy periods
What We Need From You:
- A strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- An understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices (training can be provided if needed)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is ideal, but not essential
- A positive and proactive attitude, with the willingness to learn and take on new tasks
This is a temporary role with an expected duration of 1 to 3 months, so ideal for someone looking for short-term work in the catering industry.
