Location: Carlisle and across Cumbria
Salary: £38,000 – £44,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime and call-out rota
NXT Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established and growing engineering business as they expand their presence across Cumbria. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join their team.

The role
You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across a range of commercial sites. The role is predominantly field based and will involve both planned and reactive work, including participation in an out-of-hours call rota.
Key responsibilities
• Fault finding on split, multi-split, and VRV / VRF air conditioning systems, including cold room applications
• Servicing and planned maintenance of air conditioning systems across commercial buildings
• Commissioning of split, multi-split, and VRV / VRF systems
• Service, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of heat recovery ventilation systems
• Responding to emergency and unplanned breakdowns as part of the on-call rota
• Completing work to a high standard while maintaining health and safety compliance
About you
• Time-served and fully qualified Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Engineer
• Relevant qualifications to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• City & Guilds 2079-1
• Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning installations
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• CSCS card preferred
