Location: Carlisle (Rural)
Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
Salary: up to £35,000

We are recruiting for a Production Coordinator to join a busy manufacturing and production planning team based in the Carlisle rural area. This role sits at the centre of production activity, acting as the key link between production, logistics and commercial teams to ensure smooth coordination of capacity, materials and customer demand.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain production plans using internal systems to meet customer requirements and support operational efficiency
• Monitor and manage work in progress and finished goods stock levels
• Coordinate internal movement of materials on a daily and weekly basis
• Ensure accurate recording of production data and system transactions
• Support capacity planning across production areas
• Assist with coordination of stock across multiple sites or departments
• Support forecasting processes and maintain accurate planning data
• Help develop and improve planning processes, documentation and workflows
• Review forecast versus order intake on a regular basis and report findings
• Liaise with sales and customer service teams to improve forecast accuracy
• Support medium to long term capacity planning activities
• Produce reporting on capacity and performance metrics

About you

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual who enjoys working in a structured but fast moving environment. You may already have planning or manufacturing experience, or you may be looking to step into this area with transferable skills and a willingness to learn.

You will also have

• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different teams
• A logical and detail focused approach to problem solving
• The ability to build relationships and influence where needed
• Experience with ERP systems or planning tools would be an advantage
• A full UK driving licence would be beneficial due to rural location
