NXT Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator on behalf of a well-established and professional organisation based in Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive payroll team, working with a varied portfolio of clients ranging from small family-run businesses through to larger organisations. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an accurate, efficient, and high-quality payroll service while building strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.

This position would suit an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working within a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent client service.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Day-to-day responsibilities
Processing payrolls accurately and efficiently across a varied client portfolio
Managing payroll calculations in line with current legislation and compliance requirements
Handling Auto Enrolment duties and pension submissions
Managing holiday pay calculations, statutory payments, and year-end processes
Liaising directly with clients and HMRC regarding payroll queries
Ensuring all payroll deadlines are consistently met
Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation
Supporting clients with payroll-related queries and guidance
Working collaboratively within the payroll team to ensure excellent service delivery
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the department

What will you bring?
Previous payroll experience is essential
Experience working within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice would be advantageous
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills with a professional and approachable manner
Confidence using payroll software and Microsoft Office programmes
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
A proactive and team-focused attitude
