Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and hands on Assistant Manager to join a well established, community focused inn in rural Carlisle. This is a live in role offering genuine progression to General Manager for the right individual.

This position would suit a strong hospitality professional who thrives in a busy environment, leads from the front, and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences across bar, restaurant and accommodation operations.

The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the day to day running of the business, working closely with ownership to ensure high standards are consistently delivered. You will take an active role across the bar, restaurant and accommodation side, ensuring guests receive a seamless and welcoming experience.

This is a visible, hands on leadership role. You will be on the floor, supporting the team, driving service standards, and confidently managing shifts.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the overall day to day management of the pub, restaurant and rooms • Lead, motivate and develop the team
• Take an active role in bar and restaurant service
• Oversee accommodation standards and guest check ins
• Manage rotas and staffing levels
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
• Support stock control and ordering
• Assist with training and ongoing team development
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service

About You
• Experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
• A natural leader who builds and develops strong teams
• Hands-on and confident working behind the bar and within restaurant service • Organised and able to manage multiple areas of the business
• Commercially aware and proactive
• Ambitious and looking for progression into a General Manager role
• Comfortable working in a rural setting
