NXT is currently seeking an organised and detail-oriented Control Room Operator to join our client’s team in Carlisle. As the Control Room Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our control hub and monitoring critical processes.

Duties will include:

• Managing all incoming calls, prioritising, and responding according to company procedures and industry requirements, following procedures at all times and escalating where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate records and reports of all incidents and occurrences using the appropriate systems and reporting tools
• Officer welfare calls and ensuring all shifts are fully covered
• Dealing with alarm activations and monitoring CCTV
• Liaising with and supporting mobile response units
• Continuously monitor various control systems, surveillance equipment and off-site personnel
• Ensuring that all operations adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
• Take immediate action in emergency situations and follow established emergency response procedures
• Generate regular reports on operational performance and any deviations from established standards
• Coordinate and communicate with on-site personnel to address operational needs and resolve issues
• Relay important information to supervisors, maintenance teams, and relevant stakeholders
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance tasks as necessary

Skills and Experience

• An excellent administrator with a great telephone manner, diligent and strong IT skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused during extended monitoring periods
• Passionate about delivering great customer service 
• Ability to work shifts and adapt to changing schedules
• Physically capable to sit for extended periods and operate control room equipment
