Job type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm
Salary: From £11.75 – £12.00 per hour, experience dependent 
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria 
 
NXT is working on behalf of an award-winning family business as we recruit a friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable Retail Sales Assistant to join their team. Full training will be provided, but prior experience in sales, retail, or customer service would be an advantage.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Selling a wide range of products to customers on the shop floor
  • Demonstrating products to customers and assisting with their requirements
  • Ability to understand the customer's needs to upsell, offer alternative products, and provide a great customer experience
  • Stock management and rotation duties, including the use of the company vehicle to transport goods to and from stores
  • Building great relationships with customers and always going the extra mile to guarantee repeat business 
  • Use of the till and IT systems for stock ordering and click & collect 

 
Skills and Experience:

  • Sales, retail, or customer service experience is highly desirable
  • Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new skills
  • Able to use initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • A full UK driving license is required for this position
