Overview
NXT Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Workshop Joiner to join an established manufacturing business based in Carlisle.

This is a hands-on workshop position where you’ll be responsible for producing and assembling high-quality wooden components to detailed specifications.

You’ll work with a range of woodworking machinery, hand tools and equipment, interpreting technical drawings and ensuring components are manufactured accurately and to a consistently high standard.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Joiner who enjoys working in a workshop environment and takes pride in the quality of their work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble wooden components to detailed specifications
• Operate a range of woodworking machinery and workshop equipment
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
• Accurately measure and mark out materials and components
• Use jigs, templates and other equipment to ensure consistent and accurate production
• Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
• Identify and resolve issues to maintain quality and accuracy
• Maintain tools, machinery and equipment in good working order
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
• Work closely with colleagues to meet production requirements
• Support other areas of the business when required
• Work overtime when necessary to meet business demands

About You
We’re looking for an experienced Joiner with a strong practical background and a genuine pride in producing quality work.

You’ll ideally have experience working within a joinery workshop, manufacturing environment or similar setting and be confident using a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools.

You’ll need to be comfortable working from drawings, working accurately and taking responsibility for the quality of your own work.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Joiner in a workshop or manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge of woodworking machinery and hand tools
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• A practical and methodical approach to your work
• Good problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good timekeeping and reliability
• A flexible approach to supporting the wider production team
• A strong commitment to health and safety

A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent experience, would be advantageous.
