Location: Carlisle
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Saturday overtime available)
Pay rate: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We’re recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a busy and successful manufacturing business in Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is mechanically minded, and wants to be part of a growing and supportive team.

The role involves assembling complete mechanisms and working across various stages of the production process. You’ll be joining a business that values quality, teamwork, and reliability, offering long-term stability and the chance to learn new skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Assemble and fit mechanical components to create complete systems
• Operate hand tools and light machinery safely and efficiently
• Inspect materials and finished products for accuracy and quality
• Assist with packing, loading, and general workshop duties
• Keep the workshop area clean, tidy, and well organised
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets

About you:

• Previous experience in a workshop, assembly, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Confident using hand tools and following assembly instructions
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality
• Physically fit and comfortable with practical, hands-on work
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Willing to work occasional Saturday overtime when required
